Hand’s top-10 finish leads VHS lifters at state meet

The Venice High girls weightlifting team sent four lifters to Saturday’s FHSAA state meet in Kissimmee, and three them finished in the top 16 in their respective weight classes.

Venice was led by senior Emma Hand, who finished eighth in the 119-pound class with a total lift of 285 pounds. Hand bench pressed 150 pounds, tied for third most in her weight class.
