The VHS girls basketball team dropped all three of its games in the Willie Clemons Girls Basketball Classic, but the team made strides that will pay off as the season progresses.
Venice came out flat in its tournament opener against Boca Ciega, the No. 9 team in Class 5A, falling 60-34 to the Pirates. Maggie Flynn led the Indians with 18 points, but Venice’s offense struggled.
