George Willard Dow Jr., age 71, of Venice, formerly of Boston, Mass., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. He was born on March 7, 1941 in Boston.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Francis, in 2011. He is survived by his children, Kimberly Boyd of Smyrna, Ga., and George Dow III of Vail, Colo.; two granddaughters, Morgan Elizabeth and Addison Francis.

Services: A memorial gathering will be held from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Farley Funeral Home, Venice, with the service to follow. Burial with military honors will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery. Farley Funeral Home, Venice, is handling the arrangements.
