Let it be. About the Marker IV marina there at the KMI Bridge: My wife and I were going by and were so saddened to see that all of the boats have been removed from the new dock. Every other day when we would go by you’d see families and people on the boats, working on the boats. It was basically a full marina full of people enjoying our wonderful city. Now it is empty because of continued fighting, I guess between the county and the state and the property owner and the city of Venice. It is just such a travesty that a welcomed and wanted addition to the city of Venice could be put through so many problems when it is just a benefit to everyone — the people visiting as well as the people who live here. I can’t imagine how much money is not being spent today because all of those people were forced to move. I just think it’s crazy. It’s not like we have the money to spend fighting over something so stupid. We should just let it be. It is a beautiful marina. We should be proud of it.

Monumental decision. Been reading about the Iwo Jima memorial in Sarasota — they don’t want it. Why doesn’t Venice put in for it and put it in down here? That’s one of the great statues of all time. Shows patriotism and all. That’s my opinion. I wish someone else would comment on it.
