Back-in parking. I can’t believe the consultants hired by the city to work on solutions for downtown parking suggested reverse-angled parking when our population and most of our tourists are 65 years old or older. This age group has problems parallel parking now. Can you imagine waiting on someone backing their car into an angled space? Not only could they not park that way, they would run up over the curb and put pedestrians on the sidewalk at risk. The consultants should come up with more common-sense solutions.
Dogs at beaches. I read that the city board is considering allowing dogs at all beaches. This is not a good idea. Some people are allergic to dogs or afraid of dogs or just don’t like dogs. Let dogs have their beach and let me have mine.
