There is welcome news from Cassie Meyer, who will manage the new Marker 4 Restaurant. It is projected to open in October following a major refurbishment. The popular seafood, soup and burgers waterfront location for more than 24 years closed in January.

The new owners acquired Fisherman’s Wharf some months ago, and one of their first tasks is to re-open the restaurant at 509 North Tamiami Trail on the wharf that is overshadowed by the KMI Bridge. Renovation of the property began recently with painters upgrading the appearance with a bright, almost tropical Key West neon green. Meyer said a whole new state-of-the art kitchen is being installed.
