Sarasota County commissioners agreed Friday to make the cities of Venice and North Port a one-time offer to run their police dispatch services.

County Administrator Randall Reid raised the issue during Friday’s budget workshop, saying running the dispatch services would cost from $500,000 to $750,000 to provide the service to outlying cities.
