Nokomis fire claims one

A man tentatively identified by county officials as Larry James died Tuesday evening when a fire consumed the mobile home he rented in Nokomis. Faulty wiring to a propane heater is the likely cause.

Authorities are still trying to piece together the cause of Tuesday night’s fire in an East Nokomis mobile home that killed the man who lived there.
It happened around 6 p.m. along Kenwood Avenue, just north of Edmondson Road.
