SARASOTA COUNTY — A burglary suspect attempted to escape from Sarasota Memorial Hospital Saturday after he and a woman crashed a car into a deputy’s patrol cruiser and fled authorities, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report, shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday, two deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3500 block of Bahia Vista St. in Sarasota. The deputies had been advised the altercation was becoming physical and involved a man and a woman.
