A two-hour town hall meeting Saturday at the North Port Library is targeted toward those who want to save feral and free-roaming cats in their community and make a difference in their lives.

Topics for the workshop portion of the event, titled “Helping Community Cats in Your Own Backyard,” will include animal regulations in Sarasota and Charlotte counties and what they mean for cats; caring for outdoor cats; trap-neuter-release projects and their availability; the barn cat program; available resources for kittens; and low-cost spay/neuter options for owned and feral cats.
