MURDOCK — Port Charlotte High School’s boys and girls swimming teams used their depth and balance to beat North Port on Monday afternoon.

The Pirate boys won 164-90 and the girls took a 184-84 victory over the Bobcats. Port Charlotte’s boys won six of the 11 events, including the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. Port Charlotte had individual wins from Marcas Smith in the 200 individual medley, Derek Walker in the 100 butterfly, Kevin Throwbridge in the 100 freestyle and Chris McNabb in the 100 backstroke. They also had seven second-place finishes as they improved their record to 3-2.
