PUNTA GORDA — Charlotte High School fell behind early and couldn’t catch up in a 13-3, five-inning loss to Sarasota on Thursday night in District 7A-11 action.

Sarasota scored three runs in the top of the first inning on two hits, two throwing errors and a walk. The Sailors added four more runs in the second inning with the big blow a two-run double by Zach McMullen to take a 7-0 advantage.
