Mary Frances Sullivan
Mary Frances Sullivan, 85, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla., of heart and respiratory failure.
Born in 1927 in Bradley Junction, Fla., Mrs. Sullivan was a resident of Polk County, Fla., for many years, moving to Punta Gorda in 1968.
She graduated from Florida State University in 1948. Mrs. Sullivan was a Math and Spanish teacher in the Polk and Charlotte County, Fla., School systems for over 35 years, including Charlotte Jr./Sr. High School and Port Charlotte Jr. High/Middle School. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda.
She is survived by sons, Robert A. (Patty) Sullivan and William E. (Angela) Sullivan; brother, Ken (Bonnie) Allen; sister-in-law, Sallie Allen; brothers-in-law, Allen (Betty) Hain and Dr. Jack McDonald; daughter-in-law, Diana Sullivan; and grandchildren, Hunter and Audrey Sullivan, Megan and Casey Sullivan, John and Adam Sullivan, and Derek Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Sullivan Jr.; and son, John M. Sullivan III.
A Memorial Service will be heldat 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, to honor the life of Mary Frances Sullivan. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
