Kelly Jean DeRego, 51, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

She was born July 28, 1961, in Reno, Nev., to Gerard and Beverly DeRego.

Kelly was a 1979 graduate of Charlotte High School, and worked for Capt. Skipper Seafood.

She is survived by her father, Gerard; sisters, Bridget Davids and Micheal Schafer; brothers, Richard Hope, John Lamb and Danny DeRego; many nieces and nephews; her best friend, Tom Maund; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly June Fleming; sister, Vicky Stanley; brother-in-law, Skipper Davids; and niece, Karrie Miller.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick McDonald officiating.
