O. Lloyd “Woodie” Woodward Jr., 85, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.
He was the son of Orville Woodward Sr. and Iva E., born Oct. 25, 1927, in Lyman Township, Ill.
Woodie was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a retired farmer. He moved from Piper City, Ill., to this area in 2002. Woodie was the former President of Piper City Schools, the Ford County Farm Bureau and the National Spotted Poland China Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1949, as well as of the Punta Gorda Elks, the Punta Gorda Moose and the American Legion. Woodie also was a member of Piper City Methodist Church.
Woodie will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 and a half years, Carol Tambling Woodward; daughter, Connie Jo (Steve) Arnold of Fisher, Ill.; sons, Brian (Beverly) Woodward of Roanoke, Ill., and Douglas (Jessica) Woodward of Delafield, Wis.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; and, granddaughter, Kirsten.
