Fredine V. “Chick” Dietz, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

She was born July 20, 1924, in Yonkers, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1982 from Orlando, Fla.

Mrs. Dietz retired as Director for the Senior Companion Caregiver Program for the Charlotte County Council on Aging. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Cooper Union College in New York City, N.Y. Mrs. Dietz was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane A. Warne of Port Charlotte; son, Lance Dietz of Hudson, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica Warne-Emard and Stephen A. Warne; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald V. Dietz, in 2001.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
