Joseph S. “Joe” Ruff, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.

He was born March 31, 1934, to Joseph E. Ruff and Helen G. Jackson.

Joe loved to travel and his favorite place was Niagara Falls. He dearly loved his family and his Pittsburgh Steelers! Joseph always had a winning smile.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Ruff; daughters, Anitra Hampton of Lititz, Pa., Tracy Kelly of Ruskin, Fla., Alicia Phillips of Dallas, Texas, Varsie Ihrig of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren; step-children, Cynthia Mika, Timothy Gent, and Lisa Pace. Joe was preceded in death by his grandson, Seth Hampton.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ on Rampart Blvd. Memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army.
