Stephen C. Bickell, 66, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte.

He was born April 25, 1946, in Wilmington, Del., to Albert and June (nee Olsen) Bickell.

Stephen moved to this area three years ago from King of Prussia, Pa. He was a 1964 graduate of Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pa., and worked as a carpenter — a career and hobby he loved. Stephen was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he served two tours of duty so his brother would not have to serve, and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lake Suzy, Fla.

He is survived by Lynn Hoover of Port Charlotte; brothers, Bill (Lexie) Bickell of Worthington, Ohio, Dick (Sarah) Bickell of Nashville, Tenn., Tommy (Linda) Bickell of Narberth, Pa., and Bradenton, Fla., and Bob (Nancy) Bickell of Chester, Pa.; sisters, Susan (Joe) Bisignaro of Ocean City, N.J., and Sandy (Kirk) Harman of West Chester, Pa.; and sister-in-law, Angela Bickell of Narberth. Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Bickell.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Please visit Stephen’s tribute wall at www.schelmfh.com to share memories, and to send condolences to the Bickell family. Preferred donations may be made in loving memory of Stephen to Humane Society of Ocean City, 1 Shelter Road, P.O. Box 1254, Ocean City, NJ 08226.

Arrangements are by Paul Schelm Funeral Home, Lake Suzy.
