Does Carroll’s exit really matter? Not much

Florida’s lieutenant governor resigned last week after law enforcement officials questioned her about ties to a veterans charity that is the subject of a $300 million multi-state racketeering investigation.

It was an abrupt end to an unremarkable tenure, except for weird controversies that made Carroll a liability Gov. Rick Scott will no longer have to contend with in 2014.
