T his week, Florida Gulf Coast University’s downtown Punta Gorda Renaissance Academy will play host to classes that explore two of the 20th century’s technological marvels: international passenger air travel and submarines.

“The Age of Flying Boats and International Air Travel,” presented by author Tom Williams, takes you back to an era when traveling by air was “something special” reserved for those of means, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday.
