CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies are participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign from now through New Year’s Day. “Millions of Americans will be travelling over the next couple of weeks. Across the country, folks are enjoying time-honored traditions like office parties with colleagues, visits with friends, trips home to celebrate the holidays with family. But wherever we go, driving sober must be part of the plan,” Sheriff Bill Cameron said. “Each year, nearly 11,000 people die on the road nationally due to drunk driving. In order to stop this deadly epidemic, our CCSO deputies and traffic safety team members will be out in full force looking for drunk or impaired drivers.”
