ST. PETERSBURG — In the past three seasons, the Tampa Bay Rays have played two games with no postseason implications. That’s 484 games that mattered since 2010 – and, then, Tuesday and Wednesday.
They ended the season having won 12 of their last 14 to reach 90 wins for the third straight season. But the late push wasn’t enough to get the Rays into the playoffs after a season of inconsistency.
