PORT CHARLOTTE — For a little bit of fun competition this spring, Tampa Bay established a “coach of the day” award, with the winning coach’s photo hung in the locker room for players and coaches to see (and sometimes draw mustaches on).
It’s hard to imagine, with the Rays turning in pitching gem after pitching gem, the headshot of anyone but Jim Hickey hanging from the clubhouse bulletin board.
