Pirates start sluggishly but surge late

PORT CHARLOTTE — In the end, all was well.
Port Charlotte High School won its 14th game, kept its undefeated home streak alive and took care of business during a 58-42 dispatching of visiting LaBelle on Friday night. There still was a cautionary tale toward the end of Pirates coach Bill Specht’s postgame address.
