Clifford Wayne Douglas
Clifford Wayne Douglas, 83, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte.
He was born June 22, 1929, in Birmingham, Mich., to John Melvin Douglas and Clara Etta Bonham Douglas.
Clifford came to Port Charlotte from Waterford, Mich., in 1984. He was a service representative for CMS of Michigan, retiring in 1984 after 34 years of service. Clifford was a member of Rotonda Elks Lodge 2710, and was of the Methodist faith. He had a passion for Barbershop Quartets, and was a past member of one.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alida of Port Charlotte; son, Clifford (Mary) Douglas II of Waterford; daughter, Wendy Sue Douglas of Carlsbad, Calif.; brothers, Donald (Ruth) Douglas of Boulder City, Nev., and Richard (Evelyn) Douglas of Metamora, Mich.; grandchildren, Chad (Sarah) Douglas and Kent Douglas; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob and Ella Douglas; and sister-in-law, Beatrice Hockey of Metamora.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte. Funeral Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the funeral home’s Port Charlotte Chapel. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery.
