Bette J. Berggren, 86, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.

She moved to Port Charlotte in 1997, from Wichita, Kan., and was retired registered nurse. Bette was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church of Port Charlotte.

She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Deidre A. (Sam) Parkinson of Port Charlotte; three sons, Marc C. (Diann) Addis of Delray, Fla., Jon M. Addis of St. Louis, Mo., and Don J. Addis of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Marguerite McKown of Prescott, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Samantha (James Evans) Parkinson, and Steve Parkinson.

A Memorial Mass for Bette will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 1441 Spear Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33948. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Charlotte County Chapter, 4075 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
