Betha Ann Wade, age 88, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, passed away on January 30, 2013 at Carol Woods Retirement Community.

She was a resident of Port Charlotte for eighteen years. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, October 6, 1924, she came to Florida in 1979 after retiring from teaching elementary school in the Schenectady, New York area. She was a member of the Church of The Holy Family in Chapel Hill, and her other activities included the League of Women Voters, American Contract Bridge League, the Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte Occoneechee Golf Club, and the Humane Society of the United States.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska. Donations in her honor may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 3519 Drance Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
