N. Janet Johnston, 95, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, in Fort Myers, Fla.

Janet was born Oct. 3, 1917, to Dana and Edna Kirts of Marion, Ohio.

Janet and her husband P. Thomas “Tom” Johnston were united in marriage April 18, 1942, in Marion. The couple moved to Bryan, Ohio, in 1944, when Tom became manager of The City Loan in Bryan. They were active members of First Presbyterian Church and the Bryan community. After Tom’s retirement in 1980 from the First Federal Savings and Loan, they moved to Englewood, Fla. There they both enjoyed an active lifestyle filled with new and old friends. Janet continued to live at home until recently.

Surviving are the couple’s three children, Linda (Garvin) Shankster of Sanibel, Fla., Tom (Sally) Johnston of Charlottesville, Va., and Pam (Gale) Busta of LaCresenta, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two cousins; two nephews; four nieces; and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Tom, in 2005. Janet will be sadly missed by her family; they have been blessed with her presence in their lives.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in Alameda Isles, Englewood. Burial will be in Marion in June. The family suggests memorials be sent to missions in your local church, or to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements were made in North Fort Myers, Fla.
