Kathleen E. Kasakowski
Kathleen E. (nee Hopkins) Kasakowski, 75, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012.
She was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pa.
Kathleen graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for girls of Philadelphia in 1955. She married Albert in 1959, and was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all whose life she touched. Kathleen traveled extensively throughout the world as a U.S. Air Force wife. She was an accountant at Rowan College in New Jersey, retiring in 1999. Kathleen was an active member of San Pedro Catholic Church of North Port, Fla., serving in the choir and as a member of the Church Ladies Guild. In addition, she was a member of the ladies auxiliary in the VFW and Knights of Columbus. Kathleen was dedicated to feeding the hungry. She spent countless hours working with the Archdiocese of Camden food program.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Albert P. Kasakowski; son, Albert J. (Jenean) Kasakowski; grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, and Keith; and brother, Joseph (Carol) Hopkins. She was preceeded in death by her father, Joseph F. Hopkins; mother, Catherine; sister, Anne (Nancy); and brother, John.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at San Pedro Catholic Church of North Port. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
Arrangements were made in Port Charlotte.
