Helen Lillian Recek, 71, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Hicksville, N.Y., passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte.

She was born Nov. 3, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Joseph and Doris Rogers.

Helen has wintered in Port Charlotte since 2003. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.

Helen is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 49 years, Robert S. Recek of Port Charlotte; sons, Edward (Eva) Recek and Jeffrey Recek, both of Hicksville, and Mitchell Recek of Long Island, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
