Police chief elected to state post

The Charlotte Harbor Parrothead Club held a fundraiser for the Peace River Wildlife Center and the Suncoast Humane Society, raising more than $11,000. A check-presentation ceremony was held recently during the Parrothead Club monthly meeting at Moose Lodge 2121 in Port Charlotte. Each organization was presented with a check for $5,593.60. Ellen O'Day, branch manager for Coldwell Banker National Real Estate Trust, recently presented an award to John Littlejohn for being among the top 1,000 real estate agents in the nation for the company.

Vito D'Amico, president of the Corvettes of Charlotte County Car Club, recently presented a $2,000 donation to Suzanne Roberts, CEO, and Noreen Chervinski, director of operations, of the Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic. This is the third year that the club has donated the proceeds of its winter car show to the clinic.

Congratulations to Punta Gorda Police Chief Albert “Butch” Arenal.

He recently was elected by his peers from across the state as the third vice president of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, according to a release from the Punta Gorda Police Department.
