Sermon of the Week: Stranger
He appeared at our front door hungry, with matted hair and a serious limp. The little toy-breed dog looked pitiful as he shook uncontrollably outside our front door. My wife and I asked all the neighbors if they had lost a small dog, but the little stranger seemed to be homeless.
We took him into our home and found him something to eat. We then cleaned him up a bit and tried to find out what was wrong with his leg. We knew that he needed to see a veterinarian, but we didn’t have much money at that time in our lives. Our pity for the little dog finally compelled us to see the local vet, who agreed to take payments for his services.
