Holidayfest fun continues today at fairgrounds

Serenity Pflaum, 2, of Port Charlotte, tries to pick up a big pumpkin in the patch at the HolidayFest at the Charlotte Fairgrounds. The family event which continutes today features a costume contest for children 12 and under, bounce houses, a petting zoo and chances for adults to win two cruises and airline tickets to Las Vegas.

Lyric Davis, 5, a Neil Armstrong Elementary student in Port Charlotte, proves he can hit the pins while outdoor bowling at the festival. Children can walk through a pumpkin patch and play on inflatable toys, dance to a live DJ, ride a mechanical bull, make crafts and eat snacks at the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Hundreds will come to play in the pumpkin patch and to see Santa, participate in a costume contest and much more on Sunday.
