Intact city economic plan heads for approval
NORTH PORT — The City Commission spent two hours and 15 minutes Thursday in a workshop reviewing the update to the Economic Development Strategic Plan before directing it be placed, untouched, on the next meeting agenda for final approval.
The commissioners spent a few minutes at the beginning before adopting Commissioner Mike Treubert’s suggestion of approving the five goals outlined by consultants from the Florida Institute of Government at the University of South Florida. He said the goals are the building blocks of the strategic plan and “if they’re not accepted, throw the document out.”
