PORT CHARLOTTE — Matt Moore took his time before a 2-2 pitch to Josh Fields in the fifth inning Thursday. He wound up and delivered, and Fields took the pitch, a ball. For just a second, Moore’s shoulders slumped when he saw he’d missed his target.

Before the top of the fifth, Will Inman began to warm up in the Tampa Bay bullpen, in case the Rays needed someone to finish the inning.
