Mary Lou Scherer, 73, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla.

She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Camden, N.J.

Mary had been a resident of Charlotte County for five years, coming from Glassboro, N.J. A loving wife, mother, and homemaker for her family she had a career as a real estate broker for several years, prior to her retirement. Mary was a member of the East Englewood Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joseph R. Scherer of Rotonda West, Fla.; daughter, Michelle (Thomas) Cimino of Rotonda West; sisters, Gloria “Bunny” Syrigonakis of Englewood, Deanna Wondo of Pine Hill, N.J., Janis Wagner of Turnersville, N.J., Wendy Betz and Joyce Evans both of Mantua, N.J.; and brother, Douglas Watkins of Mantua.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Englewood Community Funeral Home, with Private Crematory.
