Police: Arrest in robbery, battery of pizza deliverer

NORTH PORT — Police have made an arrest in an alleged attack on a pizza-delivery woman late Wednesday night on the 3600 block of Lundale Avenue, charging Alan James Shartle, 59, with robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to a North Port police report, the female victim was battered while making a delivery to a home on Lundale, located off North Salford Boulevard, but the report contains very little detail as to why or how the battery happened. The attack took place around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, the report states.
