NORTH PORT — Students and families at Woodland Middle School in need of a little extra assistance now will be able to drop by the school’s new food pantry — operating with assistance from Sarasota’s All Faiths Food Bank — for help.

The pantry, which opened Thursday, is the brainchild of school ESE liaison Shannon Rowland, who had the idea to start such a facility at the end of the last school year. She has been working since then to make it a reality.
