CLEARWATER — Desmond Jennings suffered what Tampa Bay termed a “mild sprain” of his left ankle Saturday while running the bases in the top of the third inning. Jennings left the game after scoring on Sean Rodriguez’ home run and was replaced by Rich Thompson in center field.

Rays manager Joe Maddon said the injury wasn’t serious.
