A site and development plan for the new "Venice Urgent Care Center" at U.S. 41 Venice Bypass North was approved by the Venice Planning Commission this week.

VENICE — Venice Regional Medical Center’s attorney last week attempted for a second time to delay a site plan petition by Sarasota Memorial Hospital to build a medical center in its backyard — without success.
Both are among the largest employers in the county.
