NORTH PORT — On numerous occasions, Imagine School at North Port governing board members and its beleaguered principal publicly said they don’t get anything for the nearly $1 million paid annually to the charter school’s parent company, Virginia-based Imagine Schools Inc.

In the current fiscal year (July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013), the local school will receive $1,521,064 from Sarasota County School District property taxes for operating and capital funding toward its $8 million budget. The rest comes from a state fund.
