NORTH PORT — Earlier this month, People for Trees Founder Alice White was named North Port’s Greenest Citizen.
The Greenest Citizen Award recognizes a North Port resident who has gone above and beyond to protect the environment by creating a more sustainable household or community. Although she was nominated for the past four years, this is the first time White has earned the “people’s choice” honor. She actually was nominated this year by five different people, and earned 50 percent of the votes.
