Key step in strategy
to combat homelessness
When most people think of a homeless person, the image of a tattered, bearded old man begging for loose change from passersby on a street corner is probably the first thought that comes to mind.
But there are many faces of homelessness — men, women, young adults and children — who wonder every day where they will sleep and where their next meal will come from. According to the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, there were 722 sheltered homeless people in Charlotte County in 2012 —not including individuals living in the woods or in cars.
