City to focus on payback for $46M road referendum
NORTH PORT — It wasn’t long after the city launched its citizens-input website before comments about the conditions of 50-year-old local roads appeared.
“We would love to see the streets beyond Ponce De Leon, off of Tropicaire, get repaved. Thanks!” Lisa Turnbull emailed almost two weeks ago to http://YourNorthPort.com. “The streets off of Tropicaire (past Ponce De Leon, going north) are in serious need of repaving. We were told that they have not been repaved in over 40 years. We recently moved here and the potholes on the side streets are horrible and also dangerous.”
