SARASOTA COUNTY — The Sarasota County Commission will receive a critical update on road impact fees regulations from the county’s Planning Department at its meeting Tuesday in South Venice.

The commission asked Planning to explore updates to the county’s road impact fees in a joint workshop last month. The fees, which are based on highway capacity — the number of vehicles on the road — and 2006 building rates last adjusted in 2007, were reduced by 50 percent in early 2011. That reduction is set to expire Feb. 1.
