Ken Ludwig, Allan Kollar, Lynne Doyle and Lynne Buhle only hint at the fun likely to be had on the main stage at Venice Theatre when “Moon Over Buffalo” opens Tuesday evening.
Written by Ludwig, who is considered by many critics in the same lofty ranks as Noel Coward and Neil Simon, “Moon Over Buffalo” is a backstage tale about Charlotte and George Hay. The Hays are performing Coward’s “Private Lives” as well as “Cyrano de Bergerac” in repertory in Buffalo. Supposedly coming to catch a performance is film director Frank Capra. If they do well, they could have a shot at Hollywood. But first, Capra has to get there, George has to stay sober and Charlotte must not run off with the Hay’s agent.
