This year marks the 25th annual Charlotte County Fair. But while the fair will be full of exhilarating rides, delicious food and interesting exhibits as usual, here is something you may not know about this very popular Charlotte County event—it is primarily a scholarship program.

The fair is a nonprofit organization that was chartered in 1989. Kam Mahshie, executive director of the Charlotte County Fair, says they are different from most non-profits in that they are involved in the education of agriculture.
