The Lake Wales Fury soccer team is on the move.

The Fury U17 Boys traveled to Spring Hill last Saturday to take on the First Hernando YSC. Perfect weather and much preparation helped Lake Wales Fury in their win with a (3-0) score. Goals were scored by Juan Bautisa, and the defending goalie of First Hernando YSC. Spencer Maldonaldo racked up 14 saves on the goal. Lake Wales Fury took 16 shots to the goals, displaying great ball work and tremendous team effort.

On Sunday, Lake Wales Fury U17 Boys traveled to Tarpon Springs to play the West Florida Premier Soccer Team. Despite a 40 minute rain delay, Lake Wales Fury prevailed with another win. The Fury won the game (4-1). A penalty kick by Juan Bautisa was the first goal of the day. Manny Hernandez, Jose Renteria and Lamar Bobb also helped the team with goals. Spencer Maldonaldo, Lake Wales goalie, was relieved by Austin Arnold to play at forward during the second half.

The Lake Wales Fury U17 Boys will play on their home field this Saturday against the Auburndale Scream. See you there.

Until next time, that is all for this week in sports. Athletes, parents, coaches and fans, I leave you with a quote:

“One way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals.”

— Michael Korda
