Butch Johnson, 72, of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at Kindred Hospital South in Tampa, Florida.
He was born March 23, 1940 in Alma, Ga. to the late Herman J. and Lois L. (Williams) Johnson; he came to Frostproof from Alma, Ga. in 1967. Butch was a retired Harvester for Ken Davis Harvesting, was a member of God’s Family Assembly, enjoyed being with his family, especially with his grandkids.
Butch was preceded in death by his son, Clint Johnson Survivors include his wife Glenda S. Johnson of 45 years; daughter, Kim Gilmore (Jason) of Frostproof; sisters, Wynne Melton of Alma, Ga., Sue Branch of Baxley, Ga.; brothers, Bill Johnson of Alma, Ga., James Johnson of Albany, Ga.; four grandchildren, Brianna and Hannah Gilmore, Logan and Noah Gilmore; longtime friends, Gene Henson of Frostproof and Donna Nutt of Frostproof.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at God’s Family Assembly with Rev. Wrynn Collins and Rev. Rayvon Galloway officiating. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
