James L. Davis, Sr., 72, passed away Oct. 9, 2012.

He was born Aug. 2, 1940, in Lake Wales, Fla., to the late Lorene Davis Evans.

He was a brick mason, an avid Seminole fan and enjoyed NASCAR. He belonged to the Pentecostal faith, and had resided here since 2002, coming from Pasadena, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Kay C. Davis; son, James L. Davis, Jr. (Tracy); daughter, Danni D. Atkins (Nathan); stepdaughter, Frances Lynn Espinoza (Manuel);
12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; faithful companion, Dottie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

The funeral is 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Abbey Funeral Home, with interment at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice. Online condolences at www.abbeyfh.com.
